As an apprentice Farrier, you will have the exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced farriers, vets, horses & their owners developing invaluable skills in the age-old craft of farriery.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be employed by CCGT and will work day-to-day with our host employer in order to receive your on-the-job training in the industry.

ABOUT THE HOST EMPLOYER:
Our Host Employer is professional, local business that specialises in shoeing horses, retailing horse shoes & working closely alongside veterinarians to provide the highest standard of shoeing in the equine sector. They look after some very well-renowned famous horses and travel around the world doing so.
They are now looking for an outgoing, animal loving individual to join their busy team!

* A passion for working with animals with the ability to remain patient & respectful towards the horses
* Ability to work with and handle large animals
* have an outgoing and bubbly personality whilst being able to remain professional
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Providing exceptional customer service using high attention to detail
* Working within the warehouse & store, distribution of goods & making horseshoes
* Horseshow fitting, learn to measure, shape & fit the shoes to ensure the comfort & well-being of the horse
* Working alongside veterinarians
* Opportunity to attend trade shows
* Checking horses legs & hooves for abnormalities
* Learning about the anatomy of the horse
* Maintaining tools & equipment
Working full-time Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
As part of this Apprenticeship, you will be PAID to study a Certificate IV in Farriery through OFF THE JOB Training at TAFE - Richmond Campus over a period of 48 months.
