About the Role:
Bayside Health is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Associate Midwifery Unit Manager on a fixed-term part time basis to cover a period of long service leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to your community while working in a supportive and innovative organisation.
The successful applicant will:
* Deliver comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and domiciliary care.
* Attend neonatal and adult resuscitation as BLS responder; attend LUSCS births as primary midwife
* Support rostering and workforce planning to ensure safe staffing levels.
* Delegate tasks appropriately based on staff experience and scope of practice
* Proactively and accurately identify those situations requiring assistance from other staff or medical staff and act accordingly
* Provide effective leadership on a shift-by-shift basis to achieve operational objectives.
* Provide effective shift management and act in the MUM role during their absence.
We are seeking a nurse who:
* Has a good understanding and working knowledge of best practice nursing and current clinical issues.
* Can work independently with second midwife on call; undertake occasional on-call shifts above contracted EFT and is prepared to work rotating day/night/weekend shifts.
* Demonstrates understanding of the dynamics of family violence and it's impacts on victim survivors along with an understanding of MARAM and the Victorian family violence system.
* Current Level 3 FSEP certificate and commitment to annual renewal.
* Demonstrates practice within ANCI competencies and Code of Ethics/Professional Conduct.

Mandatory Requirements
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and flexible individual with the ability to respond and adapt to change, display empathy, prioritise and problem solve effectively with a positive "can-do" attitude and eagerness to learn.
Essential
* Registered Midwife (RM) holding current practicing certificate from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
* Minimum 3 years midwifery experience
* Basic Life Support credentialling
* Neonatal Resuscitation
* A valid Police Check and current Working with Children Check
* Entitlement to work within Australia
* Seasonal influenza vaccination of healthcare workers in accordance with the Secretary Department of Health Directions
