Role - Senior Systems Engineer (communications)
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of robust telecommunications systems. This role involves applying systems engineering practices across the full lifecycle, including design, verification, testing, and implementation, while ensuring alignment with quality and compliance standards.
As Senior Engineering Specialist (Communications), you will be responsible for the technical implementation, sustainment, and enhancements of operational airways systems within the Aerodrome Platform portfolio of communications systems, ensuring the systems meet agreed technical performance requirements and continue to provide services to industry. Specifically, telecommunication systems, voice switch platforms such systems include voice switching platforms, telecommunications systems, dispatch consoles, camera systems and other aerodrome systems providing communication, control and monitoring services to Air Traffic Control.

Key Responsibilities
* Apply systems engineering practices across design, development, and implementation phases
* Develop and review system design and solution architecture documentation
* Support system integration, installation, testing, and deployment activities
* Manage release, change control, and problem management processes
* Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure successful delivery
* Ensure alignment with quality assurance and configuration management standards
* Contribute to continuous improvement and adherence to engineering best practices
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong experience in systems engineering across full system lifecycle
* Extensive experience in telecommunications systems design and implementation
* Experience with systems integration, testing, and deployment activities
* Strong understanding of release management, change control, and problem management
* Experience with system design, safety engineering, and systems development management
* Strong stakeholder and vendor management capabilities
* Ability to work independently and within a dynamic team environment
* Excellent documentation skills, including solution architecture and system design
Qualifications & Clearance
* Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology (or equivalent)
* Eligibility for Professional Engineer registration (e.g., RPEQ)
* Understanding of Information Security Manual (ISM) principles (desirable)
* Must be an Australian Citizen
