About The Opportunity
This is a full time role and the primary purpose of this position is to carry out fabrication and welding of crane components and assemblies to a high standard within a manufacturing environment.
Reporting directly to the Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:
* Medium to heavy fabrication using MIG (GMAW) and ARC (SMAW) welding
* Using fabrication equipment including cutting, drilling and grinding tools
* Fabricating and welding crane components and major sub-assemblies
* Collaborating with production and assembly teams to meet targets
* Ensuring safe and efficient use of workshop tools and equipment
* Operating overhead gantry cranes to position components
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mark out materials
* Strong experience with MIG (GMAW) and ARC (SMAW) welding
* Background in heavy fabrication or manufacturing environments
* Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
In addition, you will:
* Hold a forklift licence (highly regarded but not essential)
* Be able to work independently and as part of a team
* Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
* Hold a valid Australian driver's licence
* Be reliable and punctual
