The Role
Cater Care is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to support kitchen operations within an aged care facility in Ballina. This role offers a structured, stable alternative to traditional hospitality, with no late nights or split shifts. Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and present fresh, nutritious meals, including texture‐modified foods
* Support bulk cooking operations in a structured environment
* Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen coordination
* Maintain food safety and hygiene standards
* Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and service‐ready
* Support a collaborative team environment and engage with residents
Desired Skills and Experience
* Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
* Experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
* Aged care or bulk catering experience (advantageous)
* Strong organisational skills and ability to follow structured routines
* Reliable, team‐oriented, and able to work independently
* Committed to quality, consistency, and service standards
