Software Technical Support Engineer @ Schneider Electric
Software Technical Support Engineer role at Schneider Electric, based in Macquarie Park, NSW, AU. This position is part of the Customer Success division in the Pacific (Zone) and focuses on supporting customers in the "Industrial Automation" business across Australia and New Zealand. The role involves troubleshooting and diagnosing faults across a range of SCADA verticals and products, including GeoSCADA, AVEVA System Platform, and AVEVA Plant SCADA. You will also collaborate closely with pre‑sales, sales, quotes, and procurement teams to deliver an excellent end‑to‑end customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Owning, investigating, and resolving complex software issues, and proposing work‑arounds for customers.
* Accurate and timely documentation of activities and findings in the case management system.
* Contribution to digital self‑help materials to promote faster problem resolution, and building a robust internal knowledge‑sharing platform.
* Collaboration with colleagues in other support centres and departments.
* Managing customer experience through regular and empathetic communication while keeping the focus on technical resolutions.
* Continuous learning and active contribution to the team and customers.
About You
To succeed in this role you should demonstrate 2–4 years of experience in Application Support within an ASX top‑100 business, with proficiency in software architecture, unit testing, and the SDLC. A tertiary qualification in Engineering or Computer Science is required, and you should have a working understanding of software and automation hardware communications and setup.
Key Skills And Experience
* Previous experience with AVEVA System Platform, Plant SCADA, or GEO SCADA is advantageous.
* Understanding of Windows operating systems, networking concepts, and security.
* Knowledge of Windows tools and commands that aid software troubleshooting.
* Experience integrating hardware and software.
* Quick‑thinking, self‑motivated, and proactive to maintain customer satisfaction and resolve issues satisfactorily.
