About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support procurement delivery across the North West Transmission Developments (NWTD) project.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager and working closely with project, commercial, cost control and accounts teams, this role is responsible for executing project procurement activities, supporting supplier engagement, and ensuring the timely and compliant acquisition of goods and services.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong procurement fundamentals, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced project environment. While this is not a formal leadership role, you will contribute to capability uplift across the function through collaboration, mentoring support, and sharing of procurement knowledge.
What You'll Do
* Deliver end-to-end procurement support across NWTD packages, including sourcing, RFQs, tender documentation, evaluations, recommendations, and supplier engagement
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand scope, procurement requirements, timelines, and delivery priorities
* Administer procurement and contract documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, delivery records, dockets, and registers, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Support contract administration activities and ensure procurement actions align with project governance, company procedures, and compliance obligations
* Coordinate logistics and track delivery of materials, assets, and consumables to support project continuity
* Monitor procurement performance against targets and KPIs, analyse data and supplier performance trends, and identify cost optimisation and process improvement opportunities
* Liaise with cost control and accounts teams to support accurate cost allocation, reporting, and procurement record management
* Act as a key point of contact for project teams, suppliers, and service providers, providing timely advice and clear communication on procurement status, risks, issues, and opportunities
* Build and maintain productive supplier relationships while supporting procurement inputs for tenders, pre-qualifications, and broader project commercial requirements
* Contribute to a collaborative procurement function through knowledge sharing, support to team members, and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a procurement, purchasing, or supply role (project-based environment highly regarded)
* Strong procurement administration capability across sourcing, quoting, documentation, and supplier coordination
* Demonstrated negotiation and analytical skills relevant to procurement and commercial decision-making
* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure
* Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing day-to-day activities
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a service-oriented and professional approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive project team
* Sound knowledge of WHS / Occupational Health & Safety expectations in operational environments
* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general systems/PC skills
* Current C Class Driver's Licence
* Current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
Desirable
* Experience in utilities, construction, and/or resources sectors
* Broad commercial awareness in project delivery environments
* Experience using procurement / ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Navision / Business Central)
* Qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, or relevant certification
