About Us:

Indigenous Shared Services Group (ISSG) is a partnership of Aboriginal businesses that co-invest, pool and share resources to help Aboriginal individuals, families and communities trade, invest and work together to create a self-determining economic future.

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join Palyku Resources and their Maintenance Team operating on a mine site in Pilbara.

This is a FIFO role with 8:6 roster.

Summary:

The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing building frameworks and structures, such as walls, floors, and roofs using materials such as wood, steel, concrete, and composites. The Carpenter will also work with other tradespeople to ensure that project deadlines are met.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct building improvements to mine site and camp facilities.
* Conduct improvement works to facilities.
* Carry out required inspections.
* Conduct stock level reports and material lists.
* Work in a team environment alongside other tradesman and women.
* Schedule and plan workload.
* Work closely with the supervisor to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
* Maintain and clean tooling and equipment.
* Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

* Trade qualified carpenter
* Proven experience as a Carpenter in a commercial or residential setting.
* Excellent knowledge of Carpentry materials and techniques.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to scope maintenance works and small projects for material take off.
* Non-negotiable safety attitude to undertaking all tasks in a safe manner and complete all required documentation prior to commencing such task.
* WAH (Desirable)
* Forklift licence (Desirable)
* Unrestricted C class drivers’ licence
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Other tasks as required that fall within skill sets.
* Time management, completing jobs within time constraints and managing multiple tasks.
