**The Role**
The Estate Strategic Planner role encompasses a range of skillsets including strategy analysis, project management, procurement, contract administration / management and associated stakeholder engagements. The nature of the work also means you will experience short periods of time with a high volume of urgent, short turn around tasks that are often high profile.

The development of Estate Base Plans and Studies is done through consultants engaged through an existing Panel. The Estate Strategic Planner also represents the planning authority during the development and approval stages of major Defence estate projects, with key roles in prioritising sponsor requirements.

**About our Team**
Estate Planning Branch looks after strategic planning in order to provide an affordable, safe, sustainable and strategically aligned estate to enable Defence capability. Estate planning activities include:

- Development of policy, managing the Enterprise Estate Investment Program and base redevelopment planning,
- Managing relationships with Local, State and Federal planning authorities,
- Aircraft noise assessment, airfield encroachment protections and training area policy.

The Northern & Central Directorate within the Branch is responsible for strategic planning activities in Queensland, Northern Territory and South Australia. Our team is dispersed around the zone with teams in Brisbane, Darwin and Canberra.

We are looking for people that can work under limited or broad direction to perform and achieve complex to very complex estate planning, administrative and research work within an integrated workforce.

We seek people that deliver quality and timely work outcomes, take independent action and have good teamwork and stakeholder management skills. The ideal applicant will be resilient, exercise good judgement, demonstrate initiative and have a focus on continuous improvement. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to respond flexibly and positively to change.
