Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets will collaborate on the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As part of the Ontario Transit Group, we are currently mobilizing our design and construction teams, with major works scheduled to commence in 2023.
The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project is expected to boost Ontario's economy by supporting approximately 1,500 jobs at its peak.
What is the Project?
A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal, located west of the Don River.
Stations:
* One above-ground station integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station
* Two underground stations integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations
* Four new underground stations: King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown
Your Key Responsibilities:
You will report to the Station Design Manager and undertake the following duties:
1. Review shop drawings prepared by Subcontractor's Designers, in accordance with Project Specifications and local standards, focusing on constructability and ratio comparison.
2. Coordinate with other departments to provide timely review and comment.
3. Assist in forecasting shop drawings review by Designers.
4. Track progress of shop drawings review, RFI/NCR responses, and construction schedule adherence.
5. Maintain a proper follow-up of modifications tables during construction (RFI…), or during construction (NCR/FCR…) for As-built documentation preparation.
6. Provide necessary inputs to track Designer's cost, based on time and material during ESDC, to approve their monthly invoice.
7. Interface with other teams within the Design Team (Architecture, MEP…), and with other departments (construction, quality, means & methods…), addressing potential conflicts in the best interest of the project as a whole, during shop drawing preparation.
8. Identify changes from the design (CD stage), with quantity variations for Design Manager review and proposal to Project Management.
9. Other duties as applicable.
Requirements:
* Masters degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
* Experience in detailed design of building and civil infrastructure projects (plan production and specifications).
* Solid knowledge of building design, and previous experience working in design teams or external consultants required.
* Knowledge and experience with Autodesk software (Civil 3D, Autocad, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM360), and other applicable common software in transportation engineering.
