Certus Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced
Senior IT Officer
to lead and manage IT operations, infrastructure, and projects across multiple sites. This is a hands-on, senior technical role overseeing
IT systems, networks, security, and support
, while ensuring robust, reliable, and secure technology services.
Location:
Broken Hill, Regional NSW
Work Model:
On-site, 5 days per week
Contract/Full-time opportunities
Rate:
$600–$800/day (6-month contract with view to extension or permanent)
Travel Required:
Adelaide, Broken Hill & Dominican Republic
Key Responsibilities
* Lead
third-level IT support
and act as escalation point for complex technical issues
* Oversee IT infrastructure, network, servers, and cloud services, ensuring performance, availability, and security
* Implement and monitor
IT security policies
, compliance, and risk management practices
* Plan, execute, and manage IT projects, including system upgrades, technology deployments, and hardware refreshes
* Provide on-site technical leadership and support across multiple locations
* Mentor and guide IT teams, develop training programs, and foster a high-performance IT culture
* Collaborate with business units and external vendors to ensure IT solutions meet operational needs
Key Skills & Competencies
* Strong knowledge of
IT infrastructure
, networks, cloud services (Azure), and systems administration
* Proficiency in
IT security
, firewall and antivirus management
* Excellent
troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management
skills
* High-level
communication skills
, capable of explaining complex IT concepts to non-technical stakeholders
* Experience with
DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting languages
(Python, PowerShell, Shell)
* Ability to manage IT systems across multiple locations and support remote operations
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Bachelor's degree in IT or related discipline
* 8+ years' experience in IT support, administration, or network management
* Experience leading complex technical projects
* Hands-on Azure expertise and understanding of cloud architectures
* Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps principles, and CI/CD pipelines
Desirable:
* Experience in mining, industrial, or capital-intensive sectors
* Project management certifications (PMP, Prince2, SAFe, Agile)
* Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Cisco, MCSA)
