About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and commercially driven National Account Manager to join a leading organisation operating across multiple segments of the built environment and technology markets.
This role is responsible for managing and growing major national distributor accounts, acting as the strategic interface between the business and its most critical channel partners. With a national remit, the position supports multiple parts of the business through strong distributor engagement, joint planning, and downstream project influence.
You'll work closely with distributor leadership and sales teams to drive performance, capability, and long-term partnership value, while also engaging consultants, architects, and project stakeholders where required to support specification and conversion. If you enjoy owning senior relationships, operating across state lines, and influencing outcomes through a channel-led model, this role offers scope, autonomy, and impact.
Duties
* Manage and grow major national distributor accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for commercial, technical, and strategic matters.
* Develop and execute joint business plans with key distributor partners to drive revenue growth, market penetration, and alignment across the organisation.
* Support distributor sales teams through joint sales calls, training, project support, and technical guidance to maximise conversion and sell-through.
* Identify, track, and support project opportunities in collaboration with distributors and broader industry stakeholders.
* Prepare and support electronic product schedules, specifications, pricing, and tenders aligned to customer and project needs.
* Deliver CPDs, product training, and formal presentations to distributor teams and external stakeholders.
* Act as a national escalation point for distributors on product, technical, pricing, and troubleshooting matters.
* Build strong relationships with key decision-makers within distributor head offices and major accounts nationally.
* Maintain accurate CRM records including account plans, project tracking, call reports, and sales forecasts.
* Monitor market trends, distributor performance, and competitor activity, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
* Work cross-functionally with internal sales, marketing, customer service, operations, and supply-chain teams to deliver seamless outcomes.
* Travel interstate to support key accounts, projects, and strategic initiatives.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in key account management or national account management within a B2B environment.
* Industry background is open; experience within construction, technology, manufacturing, security, or technically led products will be well regarded but not essential.
* Demonstrated success managing large, complex customer relationships, ideally through distributor or channel-led models.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop joint plans and influence outcomes without direct authority.
* Confident communicator with strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Comfortable working across technical and commercial discussions, with the ability to learn complex product solutions.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and disciplined in CRM and forecasting.
* Self-motivated and capable of operating autonomously in a national role.
* Willingness to travel interstate regularly as part of the role; valid driver's licence required.
