The Role
At ABC News, you'll create visually engaging and memorable digital experiences that turn data journalism and interactive storytelling into compelling news moments for millions of Australians.
The Job
* Design mobile-first visual journalism, including infographics, motion graphics, and interactive data visualisations.
* Create accurate, engaging visuals and animations that make complex information easy to understand.
* Collaborate with developers and journalists on data visualisations and long-form stories.
* Stay current with digital design trends and share new ideas with the team.
* Explore new storytelling formats and contribute diverse, relevant story ideas for ABC audiences.
Position Description: DIGITAL
About You
You'll have:
* Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Strong experience designing complex visuals and interactive content for digital news.
* Skilled in UX/UI for digital storytelling and aware of front-end design needs.
* Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic tools.
* Desirable: 3D modelling, QGIS, motion graphics, or video skills.
* Work well independently and under tight deadlines.
* Creates engaging visuals for social media and digital platforms.
* Collaborative and committed to diverse, authentic storytelling.
