About the role:
Gather by Cater Care is seeking a motivated Chef for our education site in Townsville, QLD. In this role, you'll assist with bulk meal preparation and cooking, supporting a variety of events and formal dinners. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and flexibility to work some weekends and early evenings.
You'll take pride in delivering high-quality meals with excellent presentation, helping make every dining experience memorable.
This is a contract position for 3-6 months, starting with an initial 3-month period.
Roster:
* 38 hours per week
* 6-day roster with Sunday as a Time in Lieu day
Key responsibilities:
* Preparing & presenting food for our students and staff
* Support bulk cooking operations
* Provide excellent customer service
* Maintaining a clean working environment
* Adherence to food & general safety practices
* Fast, effective service - provided with a positive attitude
Your background:
* Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
* A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
* Previous experience in a similar role (education experience a plus)
* Bulk cooking experience preferred but not essential
* Ability to work independently and as part of the team
* Exceptional presentation, communication, time management & attention to detail
