Recruit*West is seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join a client and their growing site team at KCGM, Kalgoorlie.
This is an exciting opportunity to secure a minimum 12-month contract with the potential to move onto future large-scale projects continue to expand. About the RoleReporting to the Site Manager, the Materials Controller plays a key role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials, parts and equipment required to keep major construction projects on schedule.
You'll be responsible for all aspects of site-based materials management — from receiving and storage to inventory control, issue and reporting — ensuring accuracy, safety and compliance across the board.
This role offers flexibility to suit your lifestyle — available as either a 2&1 FIFO roster or a residential position based in Kalgoorlie.
Key Responsibilities***
* Manage Material Flow: Oversee the complete lifecycle of materials, including receiving, inspection, labelling, storage and issuing.
* Inventory & SAP Management: Maintain accurate stock control through SAP, ensuring real-time visibility of quantities, locations and availability.
* Quality Control: Verify deliveries, process goods receipts and manage OS&D (Over, Shortage, Damage) reporting.
* Safety & Security: Uphold strict site safety and preservation standards for all materials; actively participate in toolbox meetings and audits.
* Logistics Coordination: Manage loading/unloading operations and prepare documentation for material transfers.
* Compliance: Operate within the established Materials Management Plan and project-specific procedures.
*What We're Looking For*
* Minimum 2+ years' experience in a site-based Materials Controller or Inventory Control role (EPC or construction project experience highly regarded).
* Strong proficiency with SAP ERP or similar materials management systems.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* A proactive approach and strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
* Tertiary qualifications in Materials Management, Logistics or Inventory Control (desirable).
