Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.
In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.
Job Description
The Clinical Incident Officer supports the Clinical Incident Manager in conducting thorough and timely investigations of clinical incidents. This includes ensuring investigations are completed in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and guidelines, and that all relevant information is accurately documented in the required systems.
This role works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and provides feedback, guidance, education, and coaching in response to identified and reported incidents or issues—fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
This position may require working within sensitive, high-security, or correctional environments in accordance with Departmental policies and security protocols.
About You & What You'll Bring
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in incident, complaint, and performance management
* Proven experience working in a clinical setting, such as acute care (Emergency, ICU, Medical/Surgical) or aged care environments
* Experience in incident investigation, clinical management and/or compliance-related activities
* Ability to conduct and document thorough, professional and objective investigations of incidents
* Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with the capability to engage in a non-confrontational and exploratory manner with diverse stakeholders
* Professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
* AHPRA Registered Health Practitioner (recency of practice desirable)
* Incident Investigation Management (or related) credentials (desirable)
