Role Purpose
The Bridge Church is seeking an experienced Finance Director to provide financial management and oversight across all campuses, to enable our vision to see people living for Jesus and loving like Jesus.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a suitably qualified accountant to join the staff team here at The Bridge Church in Sydney, to take on the role of Finance Director, within our Operations Team.
We would welcome applicants with a broad experience base for this exciting position, which is an opportunity to step into a key role within our large staff team.
Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications.
This is a part-time role (3 days per week, flexible) and will report to the Operations Director.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Oversight:
Assist the Treasurer and Finance Committee in managing the Church's finances by maintaining detailed income and expenditure records in the general ledger.
Oversee the Bookkeeper's daily responsibilities, including banking, managing payments and receipts, and providing necessary advice and assistance.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare financial reports on a weekly, monthly, or as-needed basis for the Treasurer, Finance Committee, and Wardens, including detailed analysis and commentary.
Prepare all required reports for the Parish Council.
Payroll and Compliance:
Manage the payroll process to ensure staff are paid accurately in line with Diocese and Fair Work Act requirements.
Reconcile payroll at the end of the financial year and produce necessary summary reports.
Complete all required statutory returns for the ATO, ACNC, and other bodies.
Budgeting, Audit, and Reconciliation:
Manage cash flow, tax-deductible accounts, and complete necessary reconciliations.
Prepare the annual budget.
Prepare annual accounts for the year-end audit, including liaison with the Auditor.
Conviction, Qualifications and Experience
Key requirements for this role include having at least 5 years of experience, a relevant degree and requisite accounting qualifications (CPA, ACA).
Demonstrated proficiency in Xero Accounting software and advanced Excel experience will also be necessary.
You must possess a strong Christian character, demonstrating prayerfulness, grace, and a love for Christ and the church.
You should also have a servant heart, be teachable, and able to work well within a team.
Skills and Capabilities
You will need excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Key attributes include proactivity, ability to work independently and as part of a team, flexibility with working hours, and a passion for working within our church environment.
