Medical Officer in General Practice Opportunity

About the Role
The successful applicant will work as a Visiting Medical Officer at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, providing inpatient and emergency department service to ensure optimal medical care for patients. They will also work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert clinical care to patients in the emergency department, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
* Promote seamless continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient services by communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
* Deliver high-quality inpatient and emergency department services, meeting or exceeding performance standards and quality benchmarks.
* Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and allied health staff, to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Australian College of Rural Remote Medicine and/or overseas trained specialist pathways, or nearing completion of Fellowship.
* Recent and comprehensive experience in General Practice, demonstrating your ability to provide high-quality clinical care and promote seamless continuity of care.
* Completion of an Emergency Life Support course and skill/experience in Emergency Medicine, ensuring your ability to respond to emergencies and provide critical care.
* Evidence of being a scholar, maintaining medical professional development and having the ability to assist other staff, including trainees, in the acquisition and development of knowledge.
* Evidence of being a skilled communicator, including both oral and written skills, communicating with patients, students, other health professionals and the public.
* Evidence of being a collaborator, including the ability to network and operate within an interdisciplinary framework and to work with other stakeholders in a variety of settings.
* Evidence of being a manager, including ability to be flexible and cope with a changing health system, past leadership and management experience and previous safety and quality improvement activities.
* Evidence of being a professional, including continued professional development, peer review and other forms of clinical governance.
* Evidence of being an advocate, including contributions to improving individual and societal health.
