What you'll be doing
Lower North Shore Older People’s Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is a specialised clinical service. The Lower North Shore Clinical Senior is responsible for the provision of a expert clinical input and consultancy service to LNS OPMHS consumers and associated partner services.
The OPMHS senior clinician is an expert clinician who functions at an advanced level associated with OPMHS. The actions of the clinician are directed towards achieving improvements in clinical practice, standards of care and improved outcomes for older consumers and their carers. The Senior Clinician acts as a leader in health care and utilises an evidence base, contemporary theories of practice and clinical coaching to foster a learning environment and facilitate clinical and professional development of clinicians across the OPMHS speciality.
1. Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for membership with AASW as a Social Worker in addition to expertise working in Older People’s Mental Health. Occupational Therapist and Social Workers must have demonstrated extensive experience as a level 2. Registered Nurses must have minimum 5 years full time post-graduate experience and relevant post-registration qualifications and substantial experience in mental health and care co-ordination.
2. Demonstrated ability to initiate, implement and evaluate evidence based clinical practice and quality improvement initiatives.
3. Demonstrated clinical leadership, including mentorship and supervision to other mental health staff in the assessment, care planning and care delivery of people with complex mental health issues and comorbid conditions.
4. Demonstrated high level ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently, including establishing and maintaining partnerships and collaborative working with a range of internal and external key partners.
