Overview
Hospital Assistant – Catering role with Hunter Recent England Local Health District. Based at Calvary Mater, Newcastle. This is a permanent part-time position (32 hours per week) with remuneration of $29.05 per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality food services to patients and support patient care through timely meal preparation, handling, and delivery.
- Ensure meals are prepared, stored, and served in accordance with hygiene standards and Food Safety requirements.
- Work within the Patient Support Services team to maintain high service standards and effective communication with hospital staff and patients.

About You
- Experience in a hospital or aged care food services environment.
- Strong understanding of Food Safety practices and WHS principles.
- Effective communicator with a commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet service needs.
Requirements and Additional Information
- Eligibility list may be created for future permanent part-time and temporary part-time vacancies.
- Position is Category A; adherence to NSW Health policy on occupational assessment, screening and vaccination for Category A positions prior to offer may apply.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency (or eligible visa) required to work in Australia.
