Casual occupational therapists play a vital role in supporting workers with injuries or illnesses to regain their functional capacity and independence at home and in the community.
This is an opportunity to work collaboratively as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, liaising with clients, employers, medical professionals, and insurers to deliver evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate an individual's functional abilities and support needs within the home and/or community to promote independence.
* Communicate effectively with employers, case managers, medical professionals, and insurers to provide updates and ensure alignment of rehabilitation goals.
* Make recommendations for equipment, modifications, or support services based on assessment findings.
* Identify suitable providers and attend trials where necessary.
* Prepare timely reports outlining findings, recommendations, and clinical reasoning.
* Provide education on adaptive strategies, energy conservation, and safe task performance to clients and families.
* Maintain accurate records and adhere to professional standards.
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
* APHTA-registered Occupational Therapist with experience working with adults and children.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
* The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team is crucial.
* Flexibility is required to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
