About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HSE Adviser to join our team. You will play a key role in improving HSE performance, ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting our teams with practical, on-the-ground safety leadership. You’ll work closely with supervisors, project teams and management to implement effective HSE systems, monitor safe work practices and provide timely advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to enhance overall HSE performance, culture and management systems
- Monitor daily work practices to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures, standards and expectations.
- Ensure all HSE activities—including JHAs, permits, inspections and documentation—meet legislative requirements and company standards.
- Provide practical, hands‑on support to implement HSE improvement plans, controls and solutions on site.
- Stay up to date with current HSE legislation, trends and best practice, and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct both routine and ad‑hoc HSE data analysis, investigations and reporting to identify trends, risks and areas requiring attention across projects and sites.
- Ensure equipment is used and maintained safely and correctly, in accordance with operator manuals, procedures and good practice.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment by following all WHS policies, procedures and guidelines to protect staff and the public.
- Maintain strong and effective communication and collaboration with team members, supervisors and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in Work Health & Safety (Cert IV, Diploma or equivalent).
- Experience in an HSE or WHS advisory role within construction, electrical, infrastructure or similar industries.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and practical risk management.
- Well established knowledge of site HSE policies and procedures, and extensive knowledge of HSE legislation and standards.
- Confident in delivering toolbox talks, conducting inspections and engaging with frontline staff.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HSE data and identify trends.
- The ability to accurately assemble and maintain document and quality records, and produce reports using MS Office Suite.
- A proactive, collaborative style with the ability to influence positive safety behaviours.
- Well‑developed communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented approach with the ability to foster interpersonal relationships across all levels.
