Working alongside an ambitious team of over 1,200 employees and more than 400 volunteers, the organisation has an annual revenue turnover of more than $130 million. At its heart, Uniting Communities is dedicated to social equity, accessibility and supporting people of all backgrounds to live their best lives. Reporting to the Chief Executive and forming a key part of the Executive team, the Chief People Officer (CPO) will lead the strategic direction of people and culture at Uniting Communities. This role works to shape and deliver workforce strategies that support the organisation’s bold ambitions, uplift capability, champion workplace culture and ultimately, ensure our teams can thrive. Leading a team of approximately 35 people, the CPO will be responsible for IR/ER, HR operations, learning and organisational development, quality and workplace health and safety. The remit is broad and complex, spanning multiple awards, enterprise agreements and union relationships. With aged care reforms, navigating NDIS impacts and sector-wide transformation underway, the CPO will play a vital role in ensuring the organisation remains responsive, compliant and most importantly, people-centred. We are seeking a proven people executive who brings deep expertise in complex industrial environments. With experience ideally gained in community services, aged care, government, health, banking or other award-heavy sectors, you will be well-versed in navigating employee relations, leading workforce change and making sound, values-aligned decisions. You’ll be a confident people leader, capable of inspiring a large team and partnering closely with the Chief Executive and executive peers. Strategic, ethical and grounded, you’ll bring strong judgement and a commitment to developing capability, systems and culture in a fast-evolving environment.
