Position Description
We are seeking a Full-time Engineering Technologist to join our Moe team.
Offering a salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation
The duties of the Engineering Technologist are to apply engineering principles to design, develop and optimise the technology used in cutting, grinding, shaping and polishing natural and reconstituted stone including:
· To develop Computer Numeric Control (CNC) programs for the operation of the following machines
o CNC stone sawing lines
o CNC overhead stone routing machines
o CNC water jet stone cutting machines
o CNC Polishing machines
· Use SeKON and StonePro CAD/CAM software for program development and design of stone benchtops and AutoCAD for layout and 3-D design.
· Ensure that Occupational Health and Safety protocols for the processing of natural and reconstituted stone products are adhered to at all times.
· Ensure that the CNC programs developed are optimised for each type of stone being processed.
· Have complete knowledge of, oversee and be capable of operation of the various stone processing machines discussed above, to achieve specific dimensions and finishes.
· Carry out project costing and quantity estimates.
· Be responsible for quality control of stone processing operations.
Qualifications and Experience
The engineering technologist should have the following:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering
· Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering design and drafting
· Experience in using CAD programs such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
· Experience in estimation of project costing.
