This is a Fixed Term (5-year) part-time appointment between 40 and 48 hours per fortnight (0.5-0.6 FTE), with possibility of extension(s).
What is our Consultant - Physician - Nephrology role?
Consultant - Physician - Nephrology provides all aspects of clinical care for people with chronic kidney disease, including those maintained on dialysis or who have received kidney transplants. The applicant is expected to take a lead role in providing specialist services to patients in the Midwest and satellite dialysis centres, as well as providing education and support to the local network, including regional general practitioners. This role also provides specialist services to patients referred to the Department of Renal Medicine and Transplantation, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. This role reports to the Head of Department - Nephrology.

Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive clinical care for people with chronic kidney disease, including those on dialysis or post-transplant.
* Lead specialist services for patients in the Midwest and satellite dialysis centres.
* Offer education and support to the local network, including regional general practitioners.
* Deliver specialist services to patients referred to the Department of Renal Medicine and Transplantation, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
* Collaborate with the Head of Department - Nephrology and contribute to service development and quality improvement.

Eligibility and compliance
Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for permanent positions in the public sector. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of entitlement to live and work in Australia for the contract period. WA Health policies require criminal records screening and integrity checking. You may also be required to undertake a working with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. Adverse information will be considered as part of the appointment process.
Selection may be used to fill other similar vacancies and may remain valid for twelve (12) months from the date the recruitment decision is endorsed.
