At Bentleys Queensland, you're more than just an accountant - you're a trusted guide, helping businesses navigate challenges and seize opportunities. Your expertise fuels their success, and your insights make a real difference.
We believe in doing things differently. Our four core values - Insightful, Authentic, Dynamic, and Connected - define everything we do. You'll be empowered to make meaningful contributions, work with integrity, adapt to new challenges, and build lasting relationships.
You deserve to work in an environment that values your skills, supports your growth, and gives you the space to thrive. At Bentleys, you'll be part of a team that genuinely cares about your success.
About The Role
A fantastic, senior leadership opportunity exists within our Business Services division, reporting directly to a highly supportive and collaborative Partner who is genuinely invested in mentoring and developing your career. You will work closely together, with access to guidance, trust and autonomy, as you continue to grow as a leader within the firm.
As an Associate Director, you will play a key role in shaping team culture, driving financial performance and ensuring our clients receive high-quality, commercially focused advice. You will manage a portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted advisor and leading strategic discussions to understand their goals and deliver tailored accounting, compliance and advisory solutions. You will review work to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance with professional standards, while also taking ownership of advisory engagements and more complex matters.
A strong focus of the role is people leadership. You will support and develop your team through coaching, on-the-job training and regular feedback, ensuring workloads are well planned and productivity targets are achieved. You will work alongside Partners on resourcing, job budgets and gross profit outcomes, and may be involved in recruitment as the team continues to grow.
You will also contribute to the future of the firm by participating in business development and market-facing activities. This includes strengthening existing client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services, supporting cross-referrals across Bentleys and helping to generate new-to-firm revenue. Alongside this, you will be actively involved in process improvement and transformation initiatives that enhance the way we work.
About You
You are a relationship‐driven accounting professional who enjoys working closely with clients and supporting the growth of the people around you. You take pride in doing quality work, communicating with care and building trust through consistency, clarity and follow‐through.
This role may suit an experienced Manager who is ready to step into an Associate Director position with the support of a collaborative Partner who genuinely enjoys mentoring and developing careers. It may also appeal to a current Associate Director who is seeking greater client exposure, more meaningful involvement in advisory conversations, or a clearer pathway to long‐term progression.
You bring a strong technical foundation, sound judgement and the confidence to lead client discussions while balancing commercial outcomes with people leadership. You are CA or CPA qualified, or equivalent, with solid public practice experience and a thoughtful, proactive approach to leading teams and managing work.
Above all, you value connection, development and being part of a firm where your contribution is recognised and your career has room to grow.
