Job Title: Senior Engineering Specialist
As a highly experienced engineering professional, you will lead the technical delivery of high-impact national projects. Your expertise in systems engineering and technical leadership will be instrumental in the successful implementation of these projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the technical delivery of high-impact national projects, including the relocation of the NOMC, NAMO, and LARA.
* Provide expert technical leadership and systems engineering oversight to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and successfully delivered.
* Responsible for the technical readiness of operational systems, offering strategic guidance and working closely with project teams to ensure smooth and successful implementation.
Additional Key Responsibilities Include:
* Support the successful delivery of the LARA Airspace Management tool into the Australian Air Traffic Management (ATM) environment, working closely with Defence.
* Implement engineering processes, frameworks, policies, and governance standards to support project technical components.
* Ensure the successful management of technical scope.
* Complete required cyber security assessments and documentation under the Technology Management System (TMS).
* Provide technical engineering advice to support project decision making.
* Oversee dependency identification, reporting, and management.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders to determine operational and technical requirements.
* Develop technical and operational project artefacts.
Requirements:
* A tertiary qualification in Engineering and eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (e.g., RPEQ).
* Strong experience applying Systems Engineering practices across the SDLC.
* Experience preparing and reviewing technical documentation.
* Proven stakeholder and vendor management skills.
* Ability to work independently and lead within a dynamic team.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Eligibility for Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registration.
* Familiarity with ISM, DO-278A, and aviation safety systems.
* Knowledge of Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (Parts 171 & 172).
* Experience supporting air traffic management systems, particularly in Airspace Management, Cyber Security, and System Integration.
