At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

We are looking for a seasoned, organised, and committed Senior Consultant (Community Engagement Advisor) to join Creek Connect, the Jacobs and Seymour Whyte (JSW) joint venture delivering the Upper South Creek Networks (USCN) Program on behalf of Sydney Water.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, and will lead aspects of the communications and engagement program, with direction from the Program Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager. You will have prior experience leading communications and engagement during the construction/delivery phase of major infrastructure programs, and will be looking for the opportunity to contribute to long-term water infrastructure program as part of large team.

This role is based at Parramatta, with project sites across Western Sydney, and would report to the Program Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager on a day-to-day basis, with reach back to the Jacobs' ANZ Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Section. The majority of your time will be spent in the office or at project sites, with hybrid and flexible working available.

Our ANZ Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Section partners with our clients and the broader Jacobs business to design, deliver and evaluate communications and engagement approaches for major infrastructure projects. We deliver major programs and projects across a range of sectors including water, energy, defence, health and transport.

On the program, you will:

* Use judgement and initiative to lead community and landowner engagement matters, knowing when to escalate issues to the Program Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager.
* Live Sydney Water and CreekConnect's shared values and ensure the 'customer is at the heart' as we deliver the Upper South Creek Networks Program.
* Work with Sydney Water's Delivery Contractors to develop and implement community engagement plans to engage impacted stakeholders, communities and customers.
* Work in multi-disciplinary project teams and liaise day-to-day with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Contribute to a positive team culture and participate in continual improvement.
* Develop your consultancy and project management skills, in line with Jacobs Global Career Framework. This role translates to an Associate role, in the Jacobs Career Framework.
* Be open to working in a range of locations including project sites, the Parramatta office and home, depending on stakeholder and community requirements.
We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.

Here's what you'll need

* Extensive relevant community and stakeholder engagement experience.
* IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) Certificate and demonstrated experience in applying this framework to develop engagement plans.
* A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, sustainability, environmental science / management, urban planning, engineering or other social science disciplines.
* Previous experience delivering communications and engagement on infrastructure projects. This should include construction/delivery phase experience and preferably, water sector experience.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and high levels of emotional intelligence and strong attention to detail.
* Prior experience working in an inter-disciplinary team and mentoring more junior team members.
* Strong organisational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
* A 'can do' attitude with an interest in continuous learning and improvement.
* Full driver's licence, as the role will involve driving to sites in Western Sydney.
