About the Role
We're offering a significant leadership opportunity for a Business Banking professional who excels in relationship development across the SME segment and thrives on building high‐performing teams. As the State Manager NSW & ACT – Business Banking, you will shape IMB's presence across key markets and drive meaningful outcomes for local businesses and communities.
In this role, you will:
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of experienced Business Relationship Managers, fostering a culture of disciplined execution, strong credit acumen, and long‐term client advocacy.
* Set and execute regional business strategies that support IMB's growth ambitions across NSW and the ACT, ensuring alignment with our chosen markets and customer needs.
* Support the origination and structuring of lending solutions across commercial, residential, asset finance, and everyday banking, with transactions typically up to $10M.
* Represent IMB as a visible and trusted ambassador in the business community, building networks, attending key events, and elevating awareness of our business banking proposition.
* Work closely with clients and broker partners to deliver whole‐of‐customer solutions that deepen relationships and drive sustainable portfolio growth.
* Champion innovation, productivity, and process improvement, ensuring your team operates efficiently and delivers a consistently strong customer experience.
Who We're Looking For
* Commercial Lending Expertise – At least 10 years' experience in business and commercial lending, with strong credit judgement and the capability to structure transactions up to $10M.
* Strategic Leadership & Sales Coaching – A proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate Business Relationship Managers within a collaborative, inclusive, and performance‐driven culture.
* Customer‐Centric Relationship Builder – Deep experience working with SME clients, building meaningful long‐term relationships, and delivering tailored solutions that drive sustainable portfolio growth.
