Overview
We are a fast growing joinery/cabinet manufacturer specializing in commercial spaces and high-end and luxury residential apartments. We are seeking a factory foreman to oversee the assembly and machine workshop department and to work on the tools while leading by example.
Essential Responsibilities
* Provide direction and leadership to the Assembly team
* Assist, supervise and support staff in timely and accurate completion of work assignments
* Assign jobs to assemblers and coordinate work tasks to meet customer delivery requirements and program dates
* Assist in training and team building of staff
* Monitor operations and discipline staff where required
* Prepare materials and hardware for assemblers ensuring all parts are ready prior to assembling
* Quality control
* Oversee sorting of parts prior to assembly
* Assist assemblers with technical support
* Demonstrate and promote OH&S objectives, company standards and legislative requirements
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of factory
Skills and Qualifications
* Cabinet making qualification
* Strong leadership, coaching and training ability
* Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
* Knowledge of OHS, lean manufacturing, quality, productivity, inventory and factory processes
* Highly organised and procedure/systems driven
* Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
* Creative problem solver with an excellent attention to detail
* Excellent at time management
* Proven experience as a factory foreman or supervisor
* Experience working with nail guns, routers, saws and other woodworking machinery and power tools
* Be physically fit and strong and able to cope with very heavy, physical and fast paced work
* Computer literacy - desirable
