Metal Machinist Job Description
Our organisation is seeking skilled metal machinists to work with software and hardware, conduct tests and inspections of products, services and systems, and repair faulty programs and machinery.
Metal machinists can expect to work on various tasks such as writing and interpreting instructions, getting information from relevant sources, programming and operating CNC routers, controlling machines and processes, performing inspections, and maintaining clear communication at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Writing and interpreting technical instructions to assemble equipment and products accurately.
2. Getting information from all relevant sources to complete tasks effectively.
3. Experience in programming, setting and operating CNC routers, and controlling machines and processes.
4. Performing regular inspections of equipment, structures, materials and products to ensure quality standards are met.
5. Ability to read and understand production/CAD drawings to inform decision making.
6. Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
7. Learning and applying the latest knowledge and technologies to improve work efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Certificate in machine shop technology or machine tool technology/machinist.
* 1-2 years experience in mechanical assembly is preferred.
* Recognised apprenticeship may be required.
* Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
* Understanding of mathematics and its application in real-world scenarios.
* Ethical behaviour and a strong commitment to upholding professional standards.
