Role Description
We have an exciting permanent opportunity for an Air Life Support Fitter to join our team at Pearce, WA.
This role involves servicing and maintaining aircrew life support equipment to Defence standards. You will ensure equipment readiness, troubleshoot faults, and fit pilot gear to optimise safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
* Service and maintain aircrew life support equipment to Defence standards
* Support BF operations with hands-on technical expertise and equipment readiness
* Troubleshoot and repair faults in life support systems with minimal turnaround time
* Fit, test, and adjust pilot life support gear for optimal safety and comfort
* Deliver responsive customer support to pilots and operational teams
* Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs, and equipment status
This is a hands-on, Monday–Friday role suited to trade-qualified engineers or those with relevant defence/aviation experience.
Typical tasks
* Daily inspections and equipment servicing
* Fault diagnosis, repair, and rectification support
* Equipment fit, adjustment, and comfort testing for aircrew
* Tool control, FOD prevention, and safe work practices in hangar/apron areas
* Maintaining accurate servicing records and supporting operational readiness
* Ensuring tasks are completed safely, compliantly, and on schedule

Essential Requirements
* Required Role Experience: Demonstrated experience as a qualified Aviation Maintenance Engineer (AME), Aircraft Engineer or Electrical Engineer with strong aviation safety regulation knowledge.
* Maintenance Qualification / Licence: Certificate IV in Aeroskills (or equivalent) preferred (relevant experience considered) & Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116) highly regarded
* Work Rights: Must be an Australian Citizen
* Skills: Strong communication & presentation skills, Stakeholder engagement ability, Training development capability, High documentation discipline
