About the Role

Join Babcock in a dynamic technical position where your expertise will contribute to the maintenance, performance, and continuous improvement of mission-critical systems and facilities. In this role, you’ll be responsible for identifying and investigating technical tasks under guidance, delivering resolutions that meet time, quality, and cost expectations. You’ll apply your knowledge to produce technical documentation and solutions, ensuring all records are securely maintained and integrated into our data management systems. Your input will support engineering decisions and risk assessments, while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, codes, and standards. You’ll play a key role in maintaining operational readiness of mission systems, conducting fault investigations, and implementing preventative and corrective maintenance. Collaboration across technical teams and the wider Babcock network is essential, as is your contribution to process improvement initiatives that enhance quality and asset utilisation. This position may require occasional interstate travel and includes responsibilities aligned with our high security and health, safety, and environmental standards.

About You

You bring approximately five years of experience in a technical role, with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Your communication skills—both written and verbal—are excellent, and you’re confident navigating computer systems and technical documentation. Ideally, you have experience in the defence industry and hold a vocational qualification or certificate in a related discipline. You’re curious, courageous, and committed to delivering outcomes that make a positive impact. You value kindness, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and you take ownership of your contributions to team success. Above all, you prioritise safety, security, and professionalism in every aspect of your work.

Requirements

- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security clearance as defined by AGSVA guidelines – specifically a Positive Vetting clearance.
- Desirable to hold technical qualifications or relevant experience within the defence industry field.
- Must be locally based in Darwin (Humpty Doo) for a site‑based role.

- You’ll have access to beRewarded, which provides discounts across retail, health, entertainment, travel, and more.
- Extra benefits include novated leasing options and a corporate shares plan.
- Your wellbeing is supported through our online wellbeing program Munch, Mind, Move, Money, and access to our employee assistance program plus wellbeing leave.
