The role of a Special School Teacher Aide requires supporting educational services provided to students with intellectual disabilities at a specialist school.
About the Role:
1. This position involves assisting teachers with planning, communication, and routine tasks such as toileting, meals, and lifting.
2. Supports coordination of educational programs and implements strategies for student comprehension.
3. The aide will also provide basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, address immediate behavioural presentations, and assist in communicating with parents.
4. Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Assisting in the development of daily routines for students and their caregivers.
2. Providing physical support to students during mealtimes and throughout the day.
3. Implementing activities to promote social skills and independence among students.
4. Communicating effectively with teachers to ensure seamless delivery of educational programs.
5. Supporting the implementation of individualised education plans.
