Are you an experienced mental health practitioner seeking a psychosocial recovery role that is primarily counselling-based and grounded in trauma-informed, person-centred care?
Disability Plan Services is seeking a Psychosocial Recovery Coach with strong mental health and therapeutic experience to support NDIS participants living with psychosocial disability. This role focuses on therapeutic engagement and recovery support rather than task-driven goal setting or coordination activities.
About the role
This role delivers counselling focused psychosocial recovery support within the NDIS framework. You will work alongside participants to support emotional regulation, mental health stability, insight and recovery. The emphasis is on building psychological safety, trust and therapeutic rapport while supporting participants through complex mental health challenges and lived experience.
You will support participants to:
• Engage in counselling based psychosocial recovery support
• Process trauma and lived experience safely
• Develop emotional regulation, coping strategies and resilience
• Strengthen self-efficacy, identity and wellbeing
• Maintain recovery over time
Key responsibilities:
• Provide trauma-informed, counselling-focused psychosocial recovery support
• Apply person-centred and recovery-oriented practice
• Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards
• Complete accurate case notes and NDIS documentation
• Liaise with mental health and clinical services where required
• Manage a sustainable and appropriate caseload
About you (essential)
• Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health or higher relevant qualification
• Demonstrated counselling or therapeutic experience in mental health settings
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice
• Experience supporting people with complex psychosocial presentations
• High emotional intelligence and reflective practice
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Blue Card (QLD)
• NDIS Orientation Module
• NDIS Effective Communication training
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport
