Introduction
We are seeking an Area Sales Manager, Pumps - Australia East to join our Pumps team. You will support and develop Pumps business lines technologies portfolio - Pumps, Valves, Hose, and Cyclones - and provide onsite and offsite technical sales support for Metso team and customers.
You will collaborate with other business teams to ensure exceptional customer experience.
This position reports to the Director, Pumps, and can be based in Brisbane, Mackay, or Townsville, with flexibility for other Queensland locations.
What you'll do
* Drive profitable Pumps PG sales growth, including capex and services, for assigned sites. Proactively identify sales opportunities, respond to RFQs, RFIs, and tenders to ensure consistent growth.
* Maintain a customer-focused approach, ensuring responsiveness and building strong relationships.
* Troubleshoot equipment and service issues with technical support.
* Develop and implement growth and aftermarket retention strategies tailored to customer needs.
* Monitor market share and opportunity gaps, focusing on closing them.
* Develop pump trial proposals based on solid business cases.
* Provide accurate quarterly budgets and forecasts for assigned sites.
* Maintain customer records using CRM systems.
* Build trust as a knowledgeable advisor for slurry pumping solutions.
* Ensure excellent customer care and face-to-face engagement.
* Train customer personnel on product applications and operations.
* Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market influences.
Who are you
* Experience in Sales and Customer Relationship Management
* Understanding of the mining industry
* Experience with maintenance support
* Result-oriented with a proactive attitude
* Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
* Willingness to travel extensively for customer engagement
* Knowledge of CRM systems
* Ability to meet performance metrics
