Job Role Overview
The Finance Graduate role presents a diverse array of opportunities to gain experience in various finance functions. This includes involvement in Credit Control, Stock Management, and Management Accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for key weekly reports to Senior Managers, project work focused on financial and system controls, and assistance with Year End Accounts and external audit.
This is an ideal opportunity for the chosen candidate to become an integral part of a small finance team, gaining exposure to numerous financial elements quickly. The role includes study support for the CIMA professional qualification through a Level 7 Apprenticeship and a Leadership Development course.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute significantly to the Credit Control function, assisting the business in bringing cash into the organization
* Oversee the business stock take process, organizing weekly and monthly stock takes, ensuring accuracy, and improving processes
* Support the Health and Safety Officer and Buyer with PPE Vending Machine usage, monitoring stock levels, and employee usage
* Produce key weekly reports to Senior Managers within the organization and the wider division
* Assist with the month-end process by completing reports such as the Aged Debtors report
* Engage in project work primarily based around financial and system controls following the implementation of a new ERP system – initially assisting with these projects before taking charge with support from the Finance Manager where necessary
* Gain understanding of the Purchase Ledger function through a rotation program and offer support and cover where needed
* Gain understanding of the T&A system through a rotation program and offer support and cover where needed
* Gain understanding of the Buyers responsibilities through a rotation program and offer support and cover where needed
* Assist with Year End Accounts and external audit by providing formatted data requested by the auditors
* Undertake other ad-hoc responsibilities as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve team goals and objectives
* High proficiency in Excel
* Familiarity with key accounting concepts
* Excellent verbal and written skills
* High attention to detail
* Dedication to learning and improvement not only personally but also current processes
