Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club has proudly served the Western Australian community since 1958. One of Australia's largest and most prominent surf clubs - and 2024/25 SLSWA Champion Nipper Club, Champion Masters Club, and Champion Youth/Open Club - we are home to more than 2,300 members aged 5 to over 80.
From our flagship 825-strong Nippers program and 545 patrolling members delivering +10,000 patrol hours, to our Silver Salties, Dolphins, and cultural inclusion programs, SSLSC is a vibrant, growing, and deeply community-connected organisation on Perth's northern beaches.
With a City of Joondalup-approved new clubhouse in development and an ambitious three‐year strategic plan underway, we are seeking a skilled professional to lead our next chapter.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational leadership across all Club functions, aligned with Board‐approved goals and budgets.
Lead, manage, and develop paid Club staff − performance planning, WHS compliance, HR policy, and rostering.
Oversee financial management: budget development, monthly reporting, grant acquittal (Lotterywest, DLGSC, SLSA), and revenue growth.
Manage Club facilities, contracts, licences, and capital maintenance − including oversight of the new clubhouse development.
Develop and maintain relationships with Surf Life Saving WA, City of Joondalup, sponsors, schools, and community partners.
Support the Board in governance matters: board papers, policy development, compliance reporting, and KPI tracking.
Champion the Club's inclusive programs − Nippers, Silver Salties, Dolphins, CaLD outreach, and youth development initiatives.
Drive commercial and sponsorship initiatives to strengthen financial sustainability.
What We're Looking For
Proven senior management or operational leadership experience in a community organisation, sporting club, or not‐for‐profit of comparable scale.
Strong financial literacy: budget management, grant funding, and financial reporting experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams across a mixed volunteer and paid‐staff environment.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills across a diverse community membership.
Experience in facilities management and capital project oversight.
A genuine affinity for surf lifesaving values: community, safety, service, and inclusion.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, sport management, or related field (desirable).
Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
