National Workforce is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Fitter to join our client, a leading Resource Recycling and Manufacturing company based in Laverton.
This role is hands-on, working in a dusty and noisy recycling environment, where you'll play a key part in keeping plant and equipment running efficiently and safely.
About the Role
We're looking for a Maintenance Fitter with experience in diesel mechanics, mechanical fitting, fitting & turning, or similar trades. The position involves a wide range of maintenance tasks, including bearing replacement, general welding, fault-finding, and preventative maintenance to support site operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine maintenance and inspections on plant and equipment.
* Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company policies.
* Identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
* Perform repairs and modifications to minimize downtime.
* Collaborate with the maintenance team to optimize performance.
* Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
* Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
* Work collaboratively to maintain a safe, positive, and productive workplace.
What We're Looking For
* Trade qualification as a Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Diesel Mechanic, or similar.
* Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on maintenance experience.
* Ability to complete welding, fitting, and equipment repair tasks.
* Availability for day shifts, 8-12 hours daily, with flexibility as required.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
