In ****, Western Sydney University launched the Indigenous Traineeship Program, a University-wide initiative to provide on-the-job training in administration and to assist the occupant with achieving a Certificate III in Business Administration.
About the Ignite Indigenous Traineeship Program
The Ignite Indigenous Traineeship Program provides Indigenous peoples of Greater Western Sydney with the opportunity to gain on-the-job training alongside vocational education and training (VET) in a large higher education organisation.
Participants are employed as professional staff members and will acquire a unique business skillset from a host School, Division or Institute within the university.

About the Role
As a Business Administration Trainee, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on administration experience within a business environment while undertaking VET studies over a 12-month period.
The main aspects of the role will include:
Completing a Certificate III in Business Administration.
Providing administrative and service support to your workplace supervisor and business unit.
Maintaining record-keeping and filing systems.
Using computerised information systems and related technologies.
Prioritising own and other ad-hoc tasks to meet required deadlines.
Working collaboratively with your workplace supervisor and colleagues.
Building and maintaining professional workplace relations with internal and external stakeholders.
These positions will be based in multiple Schools, Divisions and/or Institutes across Western Sydney University.
Some roles may be shared between two or more business units within the university, and a trainee may need to travel between campuses.

About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you must:
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Person.
Have completed a year 9 level of schooling or equivalent.
Have an interest in general business administration duties.
Display a commitment to enrol and complete a Certificate III in Business (Administration) traineeship for 12 months.
Must not have completed any formal education or training resulting in a qualification.

Remuneration Package
HEW Level 1 $72,750 to $75,643 p.a. (comprising Salary of $61,475 to $63,919 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
