This is an exceptional opportunity for a Hydraulic Estimator to join our growing team. There is also an opportunity for this role to be hybrid with split between estimating and being on the field project managing commercial projects if the candidate is qualified and seeking this.

This full-time position offers the chance to grow and develop your career in a friendly and supportive dynamic environment. Based in Beard, Canberra, you'll work closely with clients to price predominantly commercial hydraulic packages; deliver tenders on time; manage ongoing tender correspondence; and leading tender negotiations alongside the Managing Director to maximise conversions.
Daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing quotes and tender submissions for commercial projects
- Liaison with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing information
- Attending tender meetings and proactively undertaking the full tender process to maximise conversions
- Ongoing liaison with clients to further establish and build long-term relationships
- Working closely with Project Managers during project on pricing and variations as required
- Developing tenders and budgets with Managing Director/ Project Manager
About you:
To be successful within this role, you will need to have demonstrated knowledge and experience as a Hydraulic Estimator. You will also have the following skills and qualifications:
- Knowledge of relevant plumbing codes and local authority requirements
- Knowledge of pricing medium to large projects
- Excellent attention to detail, technical knowledge, evaluation skill, risk management & problem-solving ability
- Ability to deal with pressure, meet deadlines and enjoy challenges
- High self-esteem, assertiveness and self-motivated
- Proactive, positive attitude, competitive and self-disciplined
- Ideally have local knowledge of subcontractors and suppliers
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with fluent English oral, written and verbal
- Ability to understand the financial aspects, including risk in providing project tenders
- Ability to work in a team environment but also autonomously
- Positive work ethic
- Proficient in computer use
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products
