We are seeking an Internal Auditor to join our team based in the Fortitude Valley.
The successful applicant will possess the following skills:
* experience in an accountancy office;* completed an Australian business/accountancy degree;
* experience with internal audit procedures, compliance reviews, and control testing;
* experience in conducting internal audits of trust accounts in accordance with Queensland Law Society (QLS) trust accounting requirements;
* experience in Australian taxation law, including the preparation of tax returns for individuals, trusts, and companies for the purposes of understanding the audit process;
* experience preparing or reviewing financial information for assurance and compliance purposes;
* ability to manage and work to internal audit, quality assurance, practice compliance, and regulatory deadlines;
* studying or completed CPA or CA qualifications towards;
* be prepared to manage and work towards meeting internal audit, quality assurance, and practice compliance deadlines;

Role Overview
As our Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for:
* conducting internal audits across the practice;
* reviewing trust accounting systems and controls to ensure compliance with QLS standards;
* assessing risk management, governance, and internal control effectiveness;
* preparing internal audit reports and recommendations for improvement;* supporting practice-wide compliance with Australian tax law, company law, trust accounting rules, and legal practice obligations;
* assisting with legal and compliance correspondence and file preparation within your audit scope;* contributing to quality assurance and practice compliance frameworks.
We are a boutique tax and legal practice that requires the applicant to be prepared to be proficient in Australian tax law, company law, preparation of tax returns and accompanying financial statements, legal drafting of correspondence, trust accounting and file preparation and dispute resolution.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
