Job Title: Head Culinary Manager
We are seeking a passionate and experienced chef to lead our busy kitchen team in the heart of Fitzroy. This successful café restaurant has been serving flavourful breakfasts and lunches for over a decade, using locally sourced ingredients and providing top-quality service.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry, be up-to-date on techniques and food trends, and demonstrate an uncompromising attitude towards flavour and presentation of the highest quality. They will be able to motivate and inspire a cohesive and hardworking team environment, work well under pressure, and possess excellent relevant qualifications and experience.
The role involves leading, guiding, and inspiring the kitchen team to deliver the best results, supervising meal preparation, managing kitchen consumables, and ensuring strict compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards. The successful candidate will also be able to develop new menu items, work alongside the management team, and contribute to the success of the business.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Excellent relevant post-secondary cookery related qualifications, to at least Diploma level or agreed substitute.
* At least three years' experience (preferably more) since earning your qualifications.
* Availability across the working week and weekends.
* Proven ability to prioritise, set goals, and achieve them.
* Thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP.
* Cost control, time management, prioritization, and cost-efficient procurement practices.
* Excellent people management skills.
