The Support Worker Role with Astley Care
As a Support worker with Astley Care, you will be reliable, committed and seek to make a difference for our clients’ living in the community. We support our clients to remain independent in their own homes and being able to make their own choices.
You will:
* Work autonomously whilst enjoying connecting to peers
* Have a supportive and dedicated Team Leader
* Be supported with training and developing your skills
* Have your own schedule which is built around your personal availability
As the person on the ground, your opinion matters to us, we listen and take feedback on board. You are encouraged to share your thoughts and will have the opportunity to engage in meetings, training and catch-ups with your leaders, their doors are always open.
A typical day as a Support worker includes:
Starting your day at your first client’s home, you will work with the client completing tasks based on their individual care plans.
These tasks may include:
* Supporting the client to get ready for the day
* Assisting with medications
* Accessing their local community with outings, shopping, attending appointments or respite for a carer
* Assisting them to maintain their home with tasks such as vacuuming, cleaning their bathroom, helping to make their bed, do laundry or prepare a meal
Each client will have different services, based on their individual needs because after all they are all individuals.
