Profectus is seeking Expressions of Interest from Cyber Security Architects to support anticipated opportunities across multiple Australian Government departments and the broader national security community. These roles are expected to provide senior design authority for secure‐by‐design ICT capability across Commonwealth programs. Opportunities are most likely to be Canberra‐based, with potential travel to government and industry partner sites nationally.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead cyber security architecture across cloud, identity, network and application domains
* Define security target states, reference architectures and design patterns
* Embed secure‐by‐design principles into program delivery from inception
* Translate the ISM, Essential Eight and PSPF into design decisions and control selections
* Partner with enterprise architects, platform teams and Commonwealth assurance functions
* Support security assessments, IRAP engagement and accreditation activities
* Produce architecture documentation aligned to Commonwealth assurance expectations
Required Experience
* Demonstrated cyber security architecture experience at enterprise scale
* Deep working knowledge of the ISM, Essential Eight and PSPF
* Experience designing solutions in classified or controlled Commonwealth environments
* Strong understanding of cloud, identity, network and application security
* Excellent design documentation and stakeholder communication skills
* Experience supporting IRAP assessments and accreditation outcomes
* Familiarity with NIST CSF, NIST SP 800‐53, ISO/IEC 27001 and SABSA
* Background designing for sovereign and multi‐domain environments
* Exposure to Defence, intelligence or ASD‐adjacent program environments
Certifications (Highly Regarded)
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
* SABSA Chartered Security Architect
* Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC‐100)
Security Requirements
* Must be an Australian Citizen
* Must hold a current Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance, with NV2 preferred
Working Arrangements
* Predominantly Canberra‐based roles within secure Australian Government environments
* Onsite work is expected for most opportunities, including engagement on classified networks
