From our modern operations in Girraween (NSW), we process, prepare, and distribute premium chicken meat products across the country. 
We are currently seeking an experienced 
Poultry Farmer 
to join our Somersby hatchery operations. This position reports to the Hatchery Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day management of poultry production activities to ensure optimal hatchery outcomes, bird welfare, quality, and efficiency. The role includes a week-on/week-off on-call roster and comes with a fully serviced house. A very competitive salary is on offer for the right candidate. 
Key Responsibilities 
Plan, monitor, and manage poultry operations to meet production targets 
Oversee egg handling, incubation, hatching, grading, vaccination, and chick placement 
Maintain accurate production, health, and hatchery records 
Supervise and support staff in daily poultry and hatchery activities 
Monitor feed, water, and environmental conditions to ensure bird health and welfare 
Manage and maintain sheds, hatchery facilities, and farm equipment 
Implement and monitor biosecurity, hygiene, and animal welfare programs 
Respond to alarms, equipment failures, or livestock needs, including after-hours as required 
Ensure compliance with WH&S; standards, company policies, and industry regulations 
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance poultry production and farm efficiency 
What You'll Bring 
Previous experience in poultry or livestock farming (hatchery experience highly regarded) 
Formal qualification in agriculture, animal science, or poultry husbandry (preferred but not essential) 
Demonstrated ability to manage poultry health, welfare, and production requirements 
Solid problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills 
Hands-on approach with the ability to lead and supervise staff 
Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and on-call rosters
