About Us
Our newsagency and gift store is a community-oriented business that has been operating within our family for over 28 years. The store has evolved to include a unique range of gifts as well as traditional Newsagency lines. Our store trades 7 days a week, 363 days a year. Trading hours are Monday- Friday 7:00am to 5:30pm, Saturday 7:00am- 3:00pm and Sunday 7:30am to 12pm. The right candidate must be available to work any hours during these times. The role is initially a casual position with the intention of becoming a part-time position for the right candidate. Experience in customer services is preferred for this position but not essential as full training will be provided.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred
* Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred (but not essential)
* Merchandising Skills is preferred (but not essential)
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality, enthusiastic and friendly customer service
* Building and maintaining relationships with regular customers, working in line with the company's values
* Ability to work within a team environment
* Independently motivated and able to work without supervision
* Successful applicant will be responsible for opening and closing duties including securing cash and premises
* A keen eye for presentation, setting up displays for instore promotions
* Working closely with suppliers to plan product ranges
* Ordering and managing levels and distribution of stock
* Assessing sales performance of different ranges
* Willingness to work towards key performance indicators
* Assist with maintaining a clean and tidy premises
* Strong computer/POS skills
