Teacher - Secondary Generalist - Complex Behaviour Support

WA Public School Jobs - WA State Education Jobs. – Orelia WA

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teacher - Secondary Generalist - Complex Behaviour Support to join our team. This role combines a 0.7 FTE teaching position (potentially across a range of learning areas) plus a specialised Complex Behaviour Support (CBS) component of 0.3 FTE.

Please note that the Complex Behaviour component of the role is linked to funding, currently approved through to the end of 2026. If this funding ceases, the position will transition to a full-time teaching role to ensure ongoing employment.

Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and student-focused educator who is passionate about improving outcomes for students with complex and diverse needs.

The Complex Behaviour Support Teacher will work collaboratively with the school leadership team to develop and implement a whole-school framework to support students with complex needs. This ideally includes:

* Strengthening whole-school approaches that support student wellbeing, engagement (behaviour, attendance and participation) and learning
* Implementing connected, tiered systems of support across universal, targeted and intensive levels
* Building the capacity of staff to plan for and respond to students with complex needs.

In this role, you will ideally utilise your knowledge of evidence-based practice and connected tiered systems of support, including a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) approach, to:

* Use data and evidence to inform planning and decision-making
* Identify preconditions for improved student outcomes
* Implement coordinated, targeted and intensive interventions aligned to student need
