This position plays a critical role in shaping the Council's long‐term land use strategy, guiding sustainable growth, and ensuring development aligns with community, environmental, and infrastructure priorities.
The Strategic Planner will lead the development of long‐term planning strategies, policies, and precinct plans that guide sustainable growth, land use, and infrastructure alignment within the Council area.
Key Areas of Accountability Include
* Leading the development of long‐term land use strategies, including LSPS, growth plans, and place‐based planning frameworks.
* Preparing and implementing planning proposals, rezoning strategies, and local planning controls aligned with NSW state policy.
* Undertaking demographic, housing, economic, and environmental analysis to inform strategic planning decisions.
* Delivering precinct, corridor, and centre‐based plans to guide future development and urban outcomes.
* Leading consultation processes with community, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
* Providing strategic planning advice to senior leadership and Councillors, supporting informed decision‐making.
