Human Resources Advisor (Employee Relations) – Full Time, Tennant Creek NT
Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a Human Resources Advisor (Employee Relations) to provide expert guidance and support on employee relations matters across the organisation. This role ensures compliance with employment laws and internal policies while fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with Executive Managers to maintain/update Job Descriptions.
- Advise managers and employees on conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary procedures.
- Conduct internal investigations into complaints and grievances.
- Provide coaching to managers on employee relations best practices.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and human rights legislation.
- Partner with compliance teams to monitor adherence to organisational policies.
- Utilise a case management approach to resolve complex employee relations issues.
- Track and analyse trends in employee relations data to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and deliver training programs on respectful workplace practices and conflict resolution.
- Mentor junior HR staff and contribute to their professional development.
- Assist with job evaluations and organizational design.
- Support injury management, including return-to-work and accommodations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and use HRIS for tracking and reporting.
- Comply with Anyinginyi policies and procedures and ensure appropriate use of IT systems.
Required Essential Skills and Experience
- Respect for and responsiveness to Aboriginal culture and protocols, including support for Aboriginal self-determination.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HR or employee relations roles.
- Robust knowledge of employment law and HR practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Desirable Knowledge and Qualifications
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
- Industrial/Employee relations certification.
What We Offer
- Salary: $97,616 - $114,534 per annum
- Salary packaging up to $15,899.94 per year
- Subsidised accommodation for candidates outside the Barkly region
- Up to $5,000 relocation assistance and up to $5,000 repatriation assistance
- 6 weeks annual leave plus personal/carer’s leave up to 10 days per year
- Remote retention allowance of $750
- Study leave can be negotiated
